LIBSA is a company specialized in the natural biotechnology sector, dedicated to the development, production and commercialization of enzymes, process aids and plant extracts for both the food and industrial sectors. LIBSA has a long history of more than 50 years in the natural biotechnology sector.
LIBSA has undergone constant evolution and progress in the products and sectors as the result of a philosophy based on the search for new applications through research based on natural raw materials, mainly enzymes.
Libsa's goals
Laboratorio Proteolisin is born in Pamplona (Navarra) with the aim of solving the existing problems in industrial brewing activity related to the stability of the beer when it cools.
Transfer to new facilities in Burlada (Navarra) and change of the company name to the current name, Laboratorio Industrial de Bioquímica, S.A.
Registration of a patent on a colloidal stabilizer for beer whose active principle is the enzyme papain.
Development and production of new enzyme preparations for the brewing industry.
Marketing of enzyme preparations for sectors other than the brewing industry.
Start of exports to foreign markets.
LIBSA 50th Anniversary.
